Hi there! I'm back after months without drawing nor painting, just making jewels (that you can see here) and caring for my new born baby... I was inspired by Loctudy's lighthouse. Loctudy is a fishing harbor in Brittany, where I live since 2008.

White Gladiolus series

Yesterday I began a new series of floral watercolors: White Gladiolus. This is my personnal challenge for the next days (more probably for the next weeks!!!), because I will try different ways to paint these beautiful white flowers.

I think it's really difficult to paint white things with watercolors, because there's no white color, so we have to use the white of the paper. Please feel free to comment and make any constructive criticism, I need it to improve my "art" :)

Still Life Challenge

This is my contribution to the "still life challenge" suggested by Lin Fry. A good exercice, not easy at all! The slightest defect is quite obvious at once: asymmetry of the bowl, bad place and rendering of the shadows... I would have liked to paint a fresh and spontaneous watercolor, but I did'nt. The next time maybe?

Having said that, it is a very good exercise and I am sure that the next challenges will still help me to progress. Thank you Lyn, and congratulations to all the challengers for their beautiful renditions!
